Power grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) assigned joint venture of ABB Limited, India and Energypac Engineering Ltd., Bangladesh to design, supply, install 132/33 kV substations at Megnaghat and Munshiganj and extension of existing 132/33 kV substations at Madanganj and Hasnabad on turnkey basis. The project will be financed by JICA and government of Bangladesh . A contract was sign between PGCB and the Joint venture on 21 December 2009 for Euro 9,835,559.54 plus BDT 236,410,993.68 for the work. Mr. Md. Ashraf Hossain, Company Secretary of PGCB and Mr. B. V. Sridhar, Vice President of ABB Ltd. in presence of high officials of both signed the contract at a simple ceremony on behalf of their organizations concerned. The work is scheduled to be completed by 21 months from the effective date.

Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd. (PGCB) assigned M/S. CCC-Etern Joint Venture, China to design, supply, erection, testing & commission of 132 kV underground transmission line from Old Airport to Dhaka Cantonment on turnkey basis. The contract No. PGCB/SPSDP/TL/4/Lot-2 was signed on 15 November 2009 between PGCB and M/S. CCC-Etern Joint Venture, China for US $ 8,417,177.30 plus Tk. 84,599,433.56 for the work. Mr. Md. Ashraf Hossain, Company Secretary of PGCB and Mr. Hua Jie, Project Manager of CCC in Bangladesh signed the contract on behalf of their organizations. The work will be completed by 15 months from effective date.

The Contract No. PGCB/SPSDP/TL/4/Lot-1 was signed between Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd. (PGCB) and M/S. CCC-Etern Joint Venture, China on 15 November 2009 for US $ 10,427,027.00 plus Tk. 75,818,921.00 to design, supply, erection, testing & commission of 132 kV underground transmission line from Old Airport to Dhaka University on turnkey basis of PGCB by M/S. CCC-Etern Joint Venture, China in presence of high officials of both the organizations. Mr. Md. Ashraf Hossain, Company Secretary of PGCB and Mr. Mu Mao Wu, Project Manager, M/S. CCC in Bangladesh signed the Contract. The work will be completed by 18 months from effective date.

CCC-Etern Joint Venture, China to design, supply, erection, testing & commission of 132 kV Rampura to Ullon underground transmission line on turnkey basis. The contract No. PGCB/SPSDP/TL/3 was signed between PGCB and M/S. CCC-Etern Joint Venture, China on 15 November 2009 for US $ 4,735,056.95 plus Tk. 48,893,557.60. Mr.Md. Ashraf Hossain, Company Secretary of PGCB and Mr. Cao Shoufeng, Project Manager of CCC in Bangladesh signed the contract on behalf of their organizations concerned. The work will be completed by 12 months from effective date.

A Contract was signed between Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd. (PGCB) and Crompton Greaves Ltd., India on 14 January 2010 for US $ 6,134,014.00 plus Tk. 26,487,910.00 to design, supply, delivery & installation of Power transformers and current transformers for 132 kV grid systems of PGCB in presence of high officials of both the organizations. Mr. Md. Ashraf Hossain, Company Secretary of PGCB and Mr. Budhichandra Choudhary, Senior Executive-Marketing of Cromption Greaves Ltd. signed the Contract on behalf of their respective organizations. The work will be completed by 20 months from effective date.
